For more than two hours, the audience enjoyed Depeche Mode performing twenty-two songs, including tracks from their new album, “Spirit,” and older favorite albums. In a sense, the concert opened with The Beatles and closed with David Bowie, as the band chose to play The Beatles’ “Revolution” as an introduction and, just before bidding farewell to the audience, performed “Heroes” as a tribute to the beloved artist who passed away in January 2016.
With British precision, Depeche Mode started the concert with a five-minute delay at 9:35 PM with the song “Going Backwards.” Despite the cold and drizzle, Terra Vibe was filled with a crowd that danced and sang along with the band. Despite groups facing transportation issues to cities like Patra and Corinth, and the presence of foreign tourists, Depeche Mode delivered an amazing experience.
Frontman Dave Gahan removed his jacket from the second song onward, danced provocatively, and enthralled the audience. The sound quality was exceptional, and giant screens displayed clips and close-ups from multiple cameras.
Highlight moments included “Enjoy the Silence,” with the audience singing along and raising their hands, and an acoustic performance by Martin Gore of “Home” and “A Question of Lust.” The first part concluded with “Never Let Me Down,” but Martin Gore returned for an enthusiastic encore with “Somebody.”
Overall, the concert lasted two hours and ten minutes, during which Dave Gahan performed, among others, “Poison Heart,” “Where’s the Revolution,” “Wrong,” “Songs of Faith,” “Devotion,” and “I Feel You.” The concert concluded with “Personal Jesus,” with the audience singing along with Depeche Mode. As Dave Gahan said, “You are so many, it’s so beautiful.” This marked Depeche Mode’s fifth appearance in Greece, having first visited the country in 1985. Since then, they returned in 2006 and 2013, with the 2009 concert canceled last minute for health reasons concerning Dave Gahan.

Με τα περίφημα πλέον, “Mind If I Stay”, “Save Me” και “Early Morning Dreams” κέρδισαν εκ νέου τις καρδιές του κοινού. Χωρίς βέβαια να ξεχνάμε τις τεράστιες επιτυχίες όπως “Walking With a Ghost“, “Castle in the Snow“, “Frozen To Death“, “Jolan” και βέβαια τη διασκευή στο “Crazy In Love“ της Beyonce (για το film “Fifty Shades of Grey”), όλα συνοδευόμενα πάντα από καταπληκτικά videos.
Kadebostany undoubtedly are the leaders of the new pop empire and this year they prove it even more with their new, already emblematic, album “MONUMENTAL”. An album with 13 “sophisticated songs for the masses”. The president of Kadebostany gathered his “army” to expand their name and re-create the boundaries of modern music. And of course he did it. Guillaumede Kadebostany has decided in this album not to succumb to rules and to strike a balance between radicalism and immediacy, enhancing their distinctive popvisibility and creating a musical result that is equally unpredictable and appealing. With MONUMENTAL, the Kadebostany democracy sets the foundations in each country and seeks new “citizens” to convey the new era they are conceiving. With the famous “Mind If I Stay”, “Save Me” and “Early Morning Dreams”, they have again won the hearts of the audience. Moreover, their course so far could not hold any other development. In 2013 they released their second album “Pop Collection”, which touched the audience with its musical variety and its beautiful emotional melodies. The plethora of musical genres on which this Swiss “magician” has built this album is a great vehicle for those looking beyond the usual electro-pop. Without of course forgetting the huge successes like “Walking With a Ghost”, “Castle in the Snow”, “Frozen To Death”, “Jolan”, and of course the adaptation of Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love” (for the film “Fifty Shades of Gray”), all accompanied by amazing videos. Moreover, their eccentric stage presence excites the audience, making their shows an enchanting challenge to the senses. Next to the wave this show will be an experience you should not miss.
